Clay Embrace Vase — A Sculptural Keepsake Experience at Bella Jones Ceramics

Each Hug a Vase session begins with a hand-thrown stoneware vase, freshly made on the wheel in the studio by Bella and prepared for your personal imprint. You’ll be invited to gently wrap your arms around the soft clay — pressing and shaping, through the intimate act of a hug, leaving subtle textures and contours that are uniquely yours.

It’s a tactile, grounding experience — resulting in a completely unique piece that records a fleeting moment of touch and connection.

What’s included

A hand-thrown stoneware vase (approx. 25–40 cm) prepared for hugging
Personal guidance from Bella throughout your session
Use of tools, aprons, and all materials
Your vase is twice fired and glazed in our of our studio glazes. Want a specific colour we don’t offer? We can arrange a different finish at an additional cost.
Collection from the Enfield studio once completed (usually within 6–8 weeks)

Allow 60–90 minutes for your session.

Each vase is pre-thrown and prepared to the perfect softness for hugging, so you can focus entirely on the expressive, sensory experience of shaping it.

After your session

Your piece will be carefully dried, glazed, and twice-fired in the Bella Jones Ceramics studio.
When it’s ready, you’ll receive an email to arrange collection from Enfield.

Small variations, organic marks, and gentle distortions are part of the beauty — a true reflection of your unique touch and moment in time.

Hug a Vase makes a beautiful, memorable experience for couples, families, or close friends, and is a thoughtful creative gift.

For each Vase we make, a donation will be given to the Nightingale charity, a local charity which helps people cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.
